Our customers furnish sensitive information to us daily.  They expect privacy and security for their personal and financial affairs.  The Directors, management and staff of The Commercial Bank of Grayson are concerned about and respect the privacy of our customer’s personal financial information.  We are committed to treating customer personal information responsibly.

We will take the necessary steps to safeguard sensitive information you may entrust to us. The following privacy policy outlines our practice regarding personally identifiable financial information for consumers and customers.

The information we collect provides significant benefits to you, our customers.  This information:

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

At The Commercial Bank of Grayson we collect nonpublic personal information from many sources. "Nonpublic personal information" is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.  For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.

Nonpublic personal information does not include information available from government records, widely distributed media, or government-mandated disclosures. 

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from:

·        Applications or other loan and account forms

·        Your transactions with us, or others

·        Consumer reporting agencies

DISCLOSING YOUR INFORMATION:

We pledge not to reveal specific information about your accounts, or other information that will personally identify you, to those outside The Commercial Bank organization for their independent use unless:

·       the information is necessary to effect, administer or enforce a transaction you requested;

·       you request or authorize that the information be revealed;

·       the disclosure is required or permitted by law; or

·       we have informed you that this information may be disclosed and have     given you an opportunity to decline.

If you end your customer relationship with us or become an inactive customer, we will treat the information we have about you as if you were still a customer.

We will not provide your personal information to non-bank companies for the purpose of their independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any non-financial products or services by those companies.

If we share information with a third party nonaffiliated marketing firm to tell you about our new products or services, we will enter into a written agreement with the third party. The agreement will require the third party to maintain the confidentiality of the information in the same manner our bank would and restrict its use.

SAFEGUARDING CUSTOMER INFORMATION

At The Commercial Bank we protect consumer privacy by ensuring that only employees who have a business reason for knowing information have access to it. Our financial privacy coordinator, Linda Arnett, is responsible for maintaining internal procedures to ensure that we protect our customer’s information.

All employees have a copy of this policy and are educated on privacy principles and the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer information.  Any employee who violates our privacy policy and procedures is subject to disciplinary action.

We recognize that when you provide medical information to us for a specific purpose, you do not wish such information to be used for other purposes.  If you provide personal medical information to us, we will not disclose that information unless you authorize such disclosure.

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

If we change our policy or practice ‑ for example, adding a category of information we will disclose to a third party ‑ we will notify existing customers and give them an appropriate time period to opt out of the disclosure, if applicable.
